Delivery, in detail
Most platforms tell you a message was sent. That only means the provider accepted it, not that it reached the handset. We separate the two: dispatch state, and real delivery state confirmed by the carrier DLR. For every message you see the send time, delivery time, the error code if it failed, and the retry count. Routing automatically picks an alternative path when one starts returning errors.
Frequently asked questions
How many SMS can I send at once?
We do not impose an artificial per-campaign limit. Actual throughput depends on your plan and the rate the carrier accepts, and the platform automatically paces sending so traffic is not blocked. For campaigns in the tens of thousands, contact us to configure the right routes.
Do I need recipient consent?
Yes. For commercial messages, GDPR and national electronic communications law require prior consent, and you must be able to prove when and how it was obtained. The platform handles STOP opt-outs and suppresses the contact automatically, but responsibility for the list you upload is yours. See the Acceptable Use Policy.
What does an SMS cost?
Cost depends on destination and the route used. You see an estimate before sending and the real cost after delivery, per campaign. Plans include a message volume, and beyond that you can buy additional packs without changing your subscription.
Can I send SMS from my own application?
Yes. The platform exposes a REST API with OpenAPI documentation generated from the real routes, plus webhooks that push delivery state into your system. See the dedicated SMS API page.
What happens to messages that do not arrive?
They are retried automatically, and if they still fail you get the carrier error code — invalid number, handset off, message rejected. You can filter the report by failure reason and clean the list before the next campaign.
